Day 25. Clanwilliam to Cape of Good Hope. 425km. Day 26

Had our final breakfast together and made our final leg of our journey through some awesome countryside of the Cederberg mountains, the last time trial was cancelled so we could take a leisurely drive through this spectacular country. We met up with Jacqui & Bill at our final PC control to find out that Jacqui had had a nasty fall at her last petrol stop and bruised and grazed her knees badly. We decided to press on to the southernmost tip of Africa where we were met by the many baboons, did our final MT control, the views were stunning we had a photo with Bill & Jacqui and our cars then headed to our final destination the Cape Grace Hotel. Again the scenery around the Cape was stunning however we didn’t have much time to stop because Zoe, Bruce and myself were organising a little Grand Finally Prize giving and speech.
Zoe greeted us at the hotel because their car had broken down 2 days ago, we all celebrated our great efforts and then had an hour to put something together. We all met up at 7.00 pm to celebrate, trophies and speeches were made by Kim and Philip then a meal, our prize giving was done and then Bruce told a few yarns and raised a some monies for Philip’s charity a job well done, a great ending to a awesome 26 days
