Mopane lodge in Mapungubwe, Bill and Jackie in car 23

Day 10 Agatha to Alldays. 11th May 320 kms

We had a very average breakfast and set of for a 9.00 o’clock start for our first time trial. The crew have decided to make these time trials tougher since in the classic division their is 18 first place winners. We are leaders in our division with no penalties. This time trial was in a damp forest clay based track which at times were slippery plus there was a church service held and we had to be extremely careful of people and cars we still managed to do the trial with no penalties being very cautious. We then continued to our lunch stop the scenery is very similar to gold fields in Western Australia dry with scattered shrubs. Lunch we had Impala Pie and chips, delicious! Scott and Salome in the 56 Chevy had a incident where a guinea fowl decided to fly in their windscreen and join them as a passenger, they were very lucky no serious damage was had. A new windscreen has been ordered and should be fitted by tomorrow morning. Drove another 150 kms to our overnight lodges, the crew was split in into 3 lodges, we stayed at Mopane Bush Lodge settled in and had a lovely afternoon tea and caught up with internet mail. Leopards, white rhinos, kudos and impala are mainly found wondering around this camp. Our hut was approx 400 metres away from main lodge so at night we walked this with the knowledge we may encounter a leopard, thank goodness we did not? Had a wonderful experience with a new concept of dining in a circular fashion around a fire where the servants brought our table to us, food and social interaction was great an early night had by all because a 6.30 am start
